The course aims at building the following skills:
- designing and analysing urban and territorial policies for sustainable development;
- building and managing interactive processes for spatial planning by exploring potentialities, methods, and tools of participatory democracy;
- addressing strategies and policies for the effectiveness of urban and territorial transformation projects;
- evaluating urban and territorial planning processes and policies;
- coordinating interactive processes in the construction of territorial policies.
Type of Assessment
The exams consist of the following activities:
- individual/small group contributions presented to the class during seminars, laboratory activities and intermediate checks (30%);
- the critical ability to interact on the problems and issues posed during the educational workshops (10%);
- the effectiveness of learning based on the implementation of the issues presented by the teacher and studied in the recommended references (10);
- the final exercise (40%).
Finally, the presentation during the exam will contribute to the overall assessment (10).
In particular, the student shall develop the following activities:
1. carry out the readings (individually) recommended by the teacher with reference to the topics of the lessons [the texts will be made available by the teacher on the moodle platform of the course];
2. carry out the final exercise (individually) on a topic agreed by the teacher. The final exercise consists of a short essay on one of the topics developed in the course.
